MASTER OF SCIENCE IN CYBER-SECURITY

Transfer Courses

Students with a prior M.S. or an advanced degree from another institution may be allowed to transfer at most two courses. The Cyber-Security MS Program Committee (see Administration and Contacts) will determine the course equivalence of the transfered coursework. For each course to be transferred, the student is required to provide a complete description, along with the lecture and assignment materials. In addition to the course equivalence, the transfer of courses is contingent upon when the course was taken by the applicant — courses completed prior to three years can not be transferred.

Student Transfers from other Master’s Programs at NYU-Poly

Qualified M.S. students registered in other NYU-Poly master’s programs (e.g., the CS master’s program), who can demonstrate adequate skills in the area of cyber-security, may be permitted to transfer to the MS in Cyber-Security program. The admission criteria and program requirements are as discussed in the previous sections. Any of the courses listed in the Cyber-Security MS program requirements, which the student has completed prior to his/her transfer to the program, will be transferred as is and given credit for.

MS Cyber-Security Transfers to the PhD Program in CS

Qualified Cyber-Security MS students can be transferred to the Ph.D. program in CS. The MS Program Committee must first recommend the applicant to the Ph.D. Admissions Committee.

NOTE: Any other programmatic issues will be evaluated by the Cyber-Security MS program committee on a case-to-case basis.
